Black on Rove on Barreiro tonight

Breaking news

rove_and_bush_by_ap.jpgI’ve been asked to appear on the Dan Barreiro program, that’s KFAN AM 1130, after the 6 p.m. newsbreak this evening.

Barreiro’s sidekick, Joe Anderson aka Mr. Phunn, is filling in tonight. He wants to talk about the Rove departure, among other things, and I’m working on a post about it. My entry question is this: Does Rove-ism represent an important new high in the politicization of everything done by the executive branch, and will those excesses be an important part of the historical legacy of the Bush years, or is it naive not to assume that everything has been politicized Chester A. Arthur administration?

Anyway, I’ll keep working on that, but if any of you have facts or ideas about Rove, please don’t hesitate to post them as comments below and I may use them in the next post or to prepare for the radio.

Also, if you catch the show, let me know what you think.

  1. rich,

I guess Mr. Rove decided that cut and run was the best policy.

  2. taylor,

Rove-ism doesn’t represent a *new* high in the politicization of everything done by the executive branch, but there’s definitely a change under Rove’s direction in the President’s PR. The W. camp has been able to tightly control the how he’s politicized, all the way from his early days as a candidate to up until a few months ago. That control is finally starting to unravel, and the politicization spins further and further away from favorable.
