George W. Bush did not start the Iraq War unilaterally or without support. Nonetheless, these people are not stupid. So, why does the war continue and continue to have significant support from Congress? Is it because the military feels it needs to establish more bases outside of Saudi Arabia and closer to Iran? I’m not saying that this would be a good reason. I am grasping at straws for a semblence of strategy. One can safely dismiss the smoke blowing of Bush, Petraeus and Crocker that passes for news. What possible strategy could they actually have? If there is no real strategy, then the president and a majority of Congress are certainly traitors, which I would prefer not to believe. [This is a real question, not rhetorical.]
