Third District congressional candidates forum on Iraq and related issues

Shameless self-promotion

ashwin_madia.jpgjimhovland.jpgTerriBonoff.jpgThree Democrats vying for the DFL endorsement for the open congressional seat from Minnesota’s Third District will participate in a forum tonight on Iraq and related issues sponsored by four peace groups. The candidates who have committed to attend are Edina Mayor Jim Hovland (at left) state Sen. Terri Bonoff (near right), and Iraq veteran Ashwin Madia (far right).

I’ve labeled this a shameless self promotion because your humble and obedient ink-stained wretch has the honor of moderating. But of course, I won’t be the star of the show, just the traffic cop. It’s open to the public, of course, 7-9 p.m. tonight (Tuesday) in the T. Rohlf Room of the Hennepin County Ridgedale Library.

The questions will cover Iraq, Iran, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, U.S. military spending, veterans’ benefits, and the U.S. role in a one-superpower world.
